The hunger 'to be': to be free, to be whoever we choose to be, to be wide and open, to be no one, to be and create, alone and together.
Born and raised in Cameroon, Audrey grew up learning the value of clothes. With only one school uniform, he learned how to clean and dry it to make it last the entire year. Fashion or design were not careers he knew of until he began traveling the world with his family. For more than a decade, they lived in different places. Audrey learned to be adaptive, open to new cultures and surroundings. But moving every two years didn’t give him the time to develop, to get to know himself and his interests. After completing his master’s in Paris, he decided to move to Amsterdam and focus on the one thing he carried with him everywhere:to be.
SOIF de LIBERTÉ.
Chapitre 1
This collection begins with a memory of my grandfather, the sea and a quiet kind of freedom carried by the wind. The SOIF de LIBERTÉ bag is more than an accessory; it’s a piece of that story.
Each bag is made by hand in my living room from reclaimed sail fabric, sails that once crossed oceans, faced storms and chased horizons. Instead of being forgotten, these materials are reborn and reimagined into something both beautiful and useful.
No two bags are the same. Each one carries its own marks of time, its unique colors and lines shaped by where it has been, and crafted with care for where it is going.
This is a tribute to freedom.
