Issue 5 - SEASON IS CHANGING; SO ARE WE.

Looking outside the windows of my apartment in Amsterdam, the sky colours grey. The leaves cover the ground. It takes my mood and energy with it. I am not ready to write about colder days, thicker clothes. I wanted to write about one of my passions: browsing. The search for a good, new (for me, but still vintage) garment. I wanted to share my finds, but it does take us back to the warmer days. Summer was too hot this year, we can see it around the world. And to be honest, I could talk about this, but my mind is already on the downside that I think this subject will take it all the way down. I have this feeling for the last couple of weeks, because I have been running around and trying to control everything, which never works out the way you planned/hoped. A big lesson for me. To let go of what I can’t control, but what I can do is doing what calms my nerves system: going through the recks of vintage stores or bookshelves. This is my remedy. No thought, just the fabrics or paper slipping through my fingers. And this brings me to the subject of this issue: saying ‘I love you’ without words.
I have been thinking about this subject, on how to explain, but then I knew. It doesn’t need explaining, it needs examples. Me sharing my love is through finding the perfect garment, without the other asking. When I go through recks of clothing or scroll on Vinted, I rarely look for myself and mostly look for others. Not specifically someone, but whatever garment attracts my eye and a name pops up. It could be even someone that I rarely speak to. Sometimes I share it with them, but most of the time I let it pass because I think it is a bit weird if someone randomly shares a piece of clothing or a good book, without speaking with them daily. But with my mind being on the downside of life, I wanted to give it something to look forward to and so, this idea came in my mind: what if I share my finds** with you?

Just this time, or maybe a few more times if I feel like it. Let’s see if it works out. But because I am writing for Soif de Liberté, I choose something that fits the upcoming collection, but also the world around Soif (how we see it). I choose pieces that are in my favourites, mostly selected on their colours, fit, material. I don’t select on brands, because I don’t believe that everything a big/luxurious brand makes is necessarily good or beautiful. And because I am still going on a holiday in November, I felt like staying in the warmer days and the days where we need a sweater or something. You get me.
From me to you, with love.
